BISPHENOL-A(BPA, DPP) is a bifunctional phenolic compound produced by the condensation of acetone and phenol. The polycarbonate grade is essentially 2,2-Bis(p-hydroxyphenyl) propane with only trace amount of other isomers. Polycarbonate grade BISPHENOL-A is a white solid prill of high purity used as a major ingredient of polymers such as polycarbonates and epoxy resin.

Uses
BISPHENOL-A is used in the synthesis of polyesters, polysulfones, and polyether ketones, as an antioxidant in some plasticizers, and as a polymerization inhibitor in PVC. It is a key monomer in production of polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins.
