Function
The function of roll coater is applying a thin coating film of a trivalent Chrome compound on the plate surface in order to protect it against the corrosion.
Description
During the process, the coater heads are located in front and opposite side of the strip. The front and back applicator rolls have a slight off strip contact in order to improve the coating application. Top side heads is equipped with a quick opening with synchronization, front head actuated by hydraulic cylinders. There are pressure sensor used for roll pressure feedback and linear bearings for frame movement. This system is driven manually by hand wheel. There are four Load cell for passivation coating rolls.
Application
Roll coater is applied to coating the painting and passivation to the metal strip uniformly by the applicator roll and the pick up roll, to improve the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the strip surface, which is divided into horizontal, vertical and winding type. The vertical type is genearlly used in the galvanizing line. All three types are applicable to the color coating line.
