Single-sided PCB is the most commonly seen and least expensive type printed circuit board, with the components are concentrated on one side, and the wires are concentrated on the other side. Single-sided PCBs are made up of a substrate material such as fiberglass, copper foil, and a solder mask. The components are soldered directly onto the copper foil, which is then covered with a solder mask to protect the components and the board.
Application:
Single-sided PCB is very simple to manufacture and is often used in low-cost, low-complexity applications including:
1. Automotive electronics:

2. Medical devices:

For example stepper motor controller. It is typically used to provide precise control over the speed and position of a motor, allowing for precise movements and accurate positioning. The single-sided PCB contains the necessary components to control the stepper motor, such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, and diodes.
4. Telecommunications:
For example smartphones: Single-sided PCBs are often used in smartphones due to their low cost and ability to fit into small spaces.
5. Consumer electronics:
For example, it can be used for fitness trackers and smartwatches due to its lightweight and low-profile design.
