Tungsten crucibles must be >99.95% pure, sintered under hydrogen atmosphere, and rated for 2200°C+ in inert/vacuum environments. Used in sapphire growth, rare-earth melting, or lab-scale metallurgy. Suppliers should provide density reports (>17.5 g/cm3) and surface finish specs (Ra <1.6 μm). Avoid recycled tungsten with porosity—causes cracking during thermal cycling.
