IronAxis is a U.S.-based B2B supplier of industrial equipment, instruments, machinery, food processing systems and new energy solutions for manufacturers, labs and engineering companies.
On January 7, 2026, Fibocom, a global leader in wireless communication modules and solutions, introduced the LE271-GL, its latest global version LTE Cat.1 bis module. This module is designed to provide cost-effective 4G connectivity solutions for IoT customers worldwide, particularly in applications such as trackers, IP cameras (IPC), new energy devices, and consumer electronics. The LE271-GL stands out with its four core advantages: compact size, global coverage, low power consumption, and high compatibility.
Compact Design for Global Frequency Bands
As the demand for IoT applications expands globally, the requirements for frequency band support and module dimensions have become increasingly stringent. The LE271-GL adopts a compact design of 17.7mm x 15.8mm, ensuring it is pin-compatible with Fibocom’s MC661 series, LE270 series, and LE37X series, as well as other similar products on the market. This design allows clients to quickly integrate the module without redesigning their PCBs. Despite its small size, the LE271-GL supports a wide range of FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE bands, enabling "one chip connects the world." By offering a single SKU for global deployment, it simplifies inventory management and reduces logistics costs for customers looking to expand internationally.
Enhanced Performance and Faster Network Attachment
The LE271-GL offers superior performance compared to its peers, meeting the stringent demands for response speed and stability in critical applications. It achieves rapid network attachment within 3.5 seconds and demonstrates excellent performance in serial AT responses and USB enumeration, significantly improving the startup and connection efficiency of terminal devices. Supporting the OpenCPU architecture, the module provides ample space for secondary development, further reducing overall device costs.
Optimized Power Consumption for Extended Battery Life
For battery-powered applications, the LE271-GL has been optimized for ultra-low power consumption, achieving microampere-level sleep current. It supports features like Discontinuous Reception (DRX) for efficient power management, maintaining power supply to VDD_EXT and multiple GPIOs during sleep mode to ensure key functionalities remain active while extending device runtime.
Rich Features and High Compatibility
To facilitate smooth migration from legacy solutions, the LE271-GL offers high flexibility in both hardware and software designs. It supports LBS + Wi-Fi Scan for auxiliary positioning (including overseas and indoor scenarios) and eSIM/single or dual SIM functionality, catering to logistics tracking and other use cases. With integrated interfaces such as USB, I2C, ADC, UART, LCD, Camera, SPI, and GPIO, along with support for TTS voice libraries and various network protocols (MQTT/HTTP/SSL), the LE271-GL is well-equipped to meet diverse application needs.
The LE271-GL is now available for engineering samples, inviting inquiries from global customers and partners interested in exploring the vast opportunities within the global IoT market.
