Walking into the workshop of Changshu Textile Machinery Factory, there are no workers rushing around, no frantic calls for materials, and no piles of work-in-progress inventory. Instead, production lines flexibly respond to order demands, AGVs quickly and accurately replenish materials, RGVs intelligently deliver between processes, and data is updated in real time. Behind this flexible, intelligent production system based on single-piece flow lies the smart scheduling of Zhongzhijie Intelligent's Devoc OBF—the "command brain."
"Changshu Textile Machinery Factory was founded in 1958," recalled Qian Jun, General Manager of the Second Business Division at Changshu Textile Machinery, reflecting on the company's history. "It was right here that China's first rapier loom shedding device was born. For over six decades, we've focused on one thing: specializing, refining, and strengthening our shedding devices. Our goal is to transform Changshu Textile Machinery—a local veteran brand—into a globally recognized leading brand."
This enduring focus across more than half a century has been revitalized amid the wave of digital and intelligent transformation.
When a production demand is issued, Devoc—the "digital intelligence brain"—immediately senses in real time equipment status, material inventory, and order requirements, autonomously dispatching AGVs along optimal transport routes to achieve rapid and precise material replenishment. RGVs respond to line delivery instructions by transporting work-in-progress or tooling fixtures to the next process. Upon completion of each transport task, the system synchronously updates the status of work-in-progress, material inventory, and container locations. Driven by OBF single-piece flow lean manufacturing, Changshu Textile Machinery has built a transparent, controllable, minimally staffed, and flexible intelligent factory.
"Material handling efficiency has increased by 55%, transportation accuracy has reached 100%, and order delivery cycles have shortened by 20%," affirmed Wang Huigang, Deputy Plant Manager of Jin'er Branch at Changshu Textile Machinery, citing concrete data to validate the transformation results. "This is not just an improvement in efficiency—it's a complete reshaping of our production model."
In this transformation, the role of workers has profoundly evolved. No longer needing to leave their stations, employees can now instantly perceive needs and one-click dispatch required resources through the Devoc system, achieving efficient coordination among people, machines, materials, methods, and inspection. Even more remarkably, Changshu Textile Machinery can now flexibly and orderly produce different products on the same production line, truly realizing the vision of "flexible intelligent manufacturing."
The successful practice of Changshu Textile Machinery offers a vivid blueprint for the digital and intelligent transformation of traditional manufacturing enterprises. In the new normal of "multiple varieties, small batches, fast delivery," this venerable enterprise with over 60 years of history has used Devoc to bridge the "last meter" of its production floor. Today, Changshu Textile Machinery stands in renewed form, weaving a magnificent chapter in China's journey toward high-quality manufacturing development.
