Kolmar Korea announced that its AI-powered scar care and cosmetic device has been honored with the prestigious “Best of Innovation” Award in the Beauty Tech category at CES 2026—the world’s largest consumer electronics and information technology exhibition. The same device also received an Innovation Award in the Digital Health category, marking a rare double win at this year’s show.

The “Best of Innovation” distinction is CES’s highest accolade, awarded only to entries that achieve top scores across all judging criteria—including innovation, engineering excellence, design, and user impact. Among the 10 Beauty Tech Innovation Award recipients, Kolmar Korea’s solution was selected as the single most outstanding entry.
First introduced in 2025, the Beauty Tech “Best of Innovation” Award made headlines when Samsung Electronics became its inaugural winner. Kolmar Korea now becomes the second company ever—and the first cosmetics enterprise globally—to receive this honor, representing a historic milestone for the beauty industry.
World’s First Integrated Scar Treatment & Cosmetic Concealment Device
The award-winning device is the world’s first all-in-one solution that seamlessly combines medical-grade scar therapy with instant, natural-looking cosmetic coverage. Traditionally, users must apply therapeutic ointments followed by makeup—a time-consuming, multi-step process. With Kolmar’s device, both treatment and concealment are completed in just 10 minutes.
At its core are two breakthrough technologies:
Users begin by capturing a photo of their scar via a companion smartphone app. The AI algorithm then classifies the scar into one of 12 distinct types and conducts a detailed condition analysis. Based on this diagnosis, the device precisely dispenses customized therapeutic ingredients directly onto the affected area.
Simultaneously, it intelligently blends the optimal combination from a palette of over 180 skin tones to deliver seamless, undetectable coverage. The piezo-electric dispensing system—inspired by inkjet printing technology—uses electrical signals to eject microscopic droplets without generating heat, ensuring high-precision, non-invasive application.
User-Centric Design Praised for Simplicity and Intuitiveness
The device also earned high marks for its intuitive UI/UX. Users can monitor and adjust the dosage of therapeutic components in real time through their smartphone screen. Designed with accessibility in mind, the system enables even non-expert consumers to operate it effortlessly—significantly enhancing usability and overall experience.
Commercialization Roadmap and Future Vision
Kolmar Korea plans to complete product commercialization in early 2026 and launch large-scale customer rollout in the second half of the year. The company will continue upgrading its software platform and expand the piezo-electric micro-dispensing technology into customized cosmetic manufacturing. Additionally, Kolmar is accelerating the development of smart factories through government-backed AX (AI Transformation) research initiatives.
“This ‘Best of Innovation’ Award reflects not only our technological breakthroughs but also our human-centered approach—solving real-world problems through empathetic design,” said a Kolmar Korea spokesperson. “We will continue integrating AI, IoT, and big data into cosmetics R&D and service delivery.”
The spokesperson added: “By consistently launching differentiated beauty tech solutions powered by digital intelligence, Kolmar Korea is committed to leading the global evolution of the beauty industry.”
