According to Indonesia's Antara News Agency, on November 6, Lotte Chemical Indonesia inaugurated its newly built petrochemical plant in Cilegon.
The report stated that the USD 3.9 billion facility is Indonesia's largest modern petrochemical production base, producing 15 types of petrochemical products, which is expected to reduce Indonesia's reliance on imported petrochemical feedstocks and strongly promote the development of downstream industries.
The plant has a designed annual capacity of 1 million tons of ethylene, 520,000 tons of propylene, 140,000 tons of butadiene, 350,000 tons of polypropylene, and 400,000 tons of BTX (benzene/toluene/xylenes).
