On July 9, French chemical giant Arkema announced plans to build a new transparent polyamide production facility at its Singapore production site, with commercial operations expected in the first quarter of 2026.
The facility will represent an investment of approximately $20 million and will triple Arkema's global production capacity for transparent polyamides. Arkema stated that this move marks the next phase in establishing its strategic manufacturing base in Singapore, aimed at better supporting key customers across Asia and other regions.
As a leading manufacturer of bio-based transparent polyamides, Arkema announced in 2017 a plan to transform its Singapore plant into the world's largest integrated facility for bio-based monomers and polymers. Since then, Arkema has launched an advanced plant in Singapore, increasing its global polyamide 11 production capacity by 50%.
