Arkema Makes Its Debut at CIIE to Initiate Sustainable Industry Dialogue

From November 5 to 10, at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Arkema, a global leader in specialty materials, made its debut appearance at the French Pavilion under the theme "Innovative Materials Building a Sustainable World," showcasing its leading capabilities in material innovation and green transformation, aligning with China's high-quality development. During the CIIE, Arkema collaborated with industry partners to host cross-sector dialogues focused on building sustainable value chains and exploring new pathways for low-carbon industrial transformation.

Arkema presented a range of cutting-edge applications of innovative materials across diverse fields such as sports equipment, consumer electronics, and new energy. Through immersive VR experiences, visitors gained firsthand insight into high-performance bio-based materials derived from castor beans. Among these, Arkema's flagship product, Rilsan? PA11, has a carbon footprint as low as 1.3 kgCO?e/kg—approximately 80% lower than traditional petroleum-based polyamides. This material not only offers excellent lightweight and durable properties but is also fully recyclable.

On November 7, Arkema hosted a roundtable discussion titled "Sustainable Value Chain Transformation Across Industries and Markets" at the French Pavilion, inviting representatives from French companies operating in China, including Schneider Electric and Air Liquide. The event focused on decarbonization and circular economy practices throughout the entire supply chain—from raw material sourcing to end consumers—and explored concrete strategies for advancing sustainability through cross-industry collaboration. During the session, Arkema shared its practical experience in emission reduction and emphasized that its ambitious climate goals* are highly aligned with China's “dual carbon” strategy, reaffirming its steady progress toward its 2050 net-zero vision.

To expand the conversation on sustainability beyond industry circles into broader society, Arkema hosted an "Innovation Day" series of talks at its booth during the CIIE, highlighting the widespread applications of material innovations in modern life and their critical role in driving social progress and sustainable development. The events encouraged stakeholders to actively adopt more sustainable material solutions. Additionally, Arkema launched an interactive "Climate Puzzle" challenge onsite, further stimulating audience engagement and enthusiasm around climate action, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.
