IronAxis is a U.S.-based B2B supplier of industrial equipment, instruments, machinery, food processing systems and new energy solutions for manufacturers, labs and engineering companies.
On October 14, 2025, the 12th edition of ACHEMASIA opened grandly at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai Hongqiao). Centered on the theme of "International Sustainable Chemical Production," this year's exhibition brings together 265 companies from 14 countries and regions. A large-scale German pavilion is specially featured, showcasing innovative achievements in pump and valve equipment, mixing and separation technologies, chemical and pharmaceutical machinery, and digital intelligent instrumentation.
At the opening press conference of ACHEMASIA 2025, prominent guests including Hua Wei, Supervisor General of the Chinese Chemical Society; Dr. Wolfram Stichert, President of DECHEMA and Senior Vice President of Catalyst Research & Testing at BASF; and Ma Mingbo, Executive Director and Board Member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China – East China, attended and delivered speeches.
Building a Green Transformation Platform: Multidimensional Topics Guide Industry Trends
Against the backdrop of global carbon neutrality and digital transformation, Asia—being the world's largest market for chemical production and consumption—is emerging as a key testing ground for innovations in sustainable chemical production. Returning to Shanghai after six years, ACHEMASIA serves as a major event highlighting China's advanced chemical technologies and sustainable development. The exhibition gathers leading enterprises from the global chemical, pharmaceutical, and fluid industries. From October 14 to 16, multiple keynote speeches, satellite workshops, and professional forums will be held, focusing on hot topics such as process optimization, green chemistry, pharmaceutical purification, energy-saving technologies, and intelligent manufacturing. These events will systematically present cutting-edge advances in Asia's process industries regarding technological breakthroughs, industrial collaboration, and policy alignment. A special “Forum on Overseas Expansion and High-Quality Development for Process Enterprises” will also be held to help Chinese companies address global compliance and technical cooperation challenges, promoting effective integration of domestic and international industrial resources.
Dr. Wolfram Stichert, President of DECHEMA and Senior Vice President of Catalyst Research & Testing at BASF, emphasized: "Innovation catalyzes a sustainable future. We must accelerate the deep integration of green processes and digital technologies, and through cross-sector collaboration, jointly tackle the chemical industry's global challenges in emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and circular economy. The Asian market has demonstrated tremendous innovation vitality in this regard."
Fang Xiangchen, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Chemical Society, stated in his opening speech: "Under the current wave of global green transformation, China's chemical industry is experiencing unprecedented development opportunities. ACHEMASIA provides us with a high-end platform that converges global wisdom, effectively driving innovation in green processes and industrial chain collaboration, helping China align its 'dual carbon' goals with international sustainable development."
Ma Mingbo, Executive Director and Board Member of the German Chamber of Commerce in China – East China, said: "Following the success of Germany's ACHEMA in 2024, ACHEMASIA 2025 will offer an outstanding platform in Shanghai for Sino-German and global process technology communities. The German Pavilion brings together a cluster of advanced 'Made in Germany' technologies. We look forward to deepening Sino-German industrial cooperation through this exhibition and facilitating more high-quality, sustainable chemical production projects in China."
Innovation Awards and AI Drive Intelligent Future of Process Industries
At the exhibition, the "2025 Process Industry Innovation Award" will be officially announced, covering six categories: chemical engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, hydrogen energy and green production, digitalization and instrumentation, fluid engineering, and laboratory technology—spanning all key areas of process industries. Artificial intelligence (AI) is also a highlight of this year's event. At specialized forums such as “Digital Innovation” and “Laboratory Innovation,” numerous organizations will showcase frontier advancements in applying AI to laboratory automation, production process optimization, and quality monitoring, demonstrating how AI is systematically empowering the intelligent transformation of process industries.
Dr. Bj?rn Mathes, CEO of DECHEMA Exhibitions, stated during the event: "ACHEMASIA is not just an exhibition—it is a vital window where global expertise meets Chinese innovation. We will actively embrace AI and expand feasible pathways toward achieving green development goals."
ACHEMASIA 2025 will establish an international, high-standard platform for exhibitions and dialogue, systematically presenting the latest achievements in green chemistry, smart manufacturing, and low-carbon development. It will further strengthen consensus among Chinese and foreign enterprises on technological collaboration, co-creating markets, and jointly developing standards. At this critical juncture as global process industries advance toward a sustainable future, this exhibition will inject new momentum into industrial transformation across China and Asia, contributing industry insights to achieving global carbon neutrality.
About ACHEMASIA
The ACHEMA exhibition originated in 1920 and has been held every three years in Germany, growing to include nearly 4,000 exhibitors, covering an exhibition area of 300,000 square meters, and attracting up to 180,000 visitors. In 1989, ACHEMA came to China under the name "ACHEMASIA." To date, it has been successfully held eleven times consecutively in China, becoming an international exchange platform for professionals in chemical engineering, process industries, filtration technology, pharmaceutical technology, environmental protection, analytical instrumentation, and related fields. It has evolved into Asia's premier international exhibition for chemical manufacturing and process industries. ACHEMASIA will focus on emerging, high-interest fields, providing a broader platform for market access, enhancing communication among customers, suppliers, and potential partners, and driving innovation within China's process industry.
