On October 29 local time, the commissioning ceremony for the TETELO Copper Mine Project in Angola, constructed by China Chemical Engineering Eleventh Chemical Construction Corporation (CCECC Eleventh), was grandly held in Magala City, Huíre Province. Representatives from project partners attended the ceremony to jointly witness this significant milestone.
As the core contractor, Eleventh Chemical Construction undertook seven major construction segments, encompassing an 18-kilometer 60kV transmission and transformation line, a 13-kilometer 10kV transmission and transformation line, civil works and equipment installation for the mineral processing plant, tailings dam drainage facilities, water supply pipelines, supporting pumping stations and water tanks, as well as comprehensive facilities including owner dormitories and office buildings.
The successful commissioning of this project not only signifies Angola's advancement into a new era of modern mining development but also marks a landmark milestone in the 11th Chemical Construction Corporation's strategic transition from traditional petrochemical engineering to mining engineering. As a pivotal point in its strategic transformation, the project successfully replicated the company's core technologies and lean management capabilities honed in large-scale chemical engineering construction. It effectively overcame entirely new challenges in the mining sector, forged a highly skilled and resilient multidisciplinary team, established a successful model for cross-sector development, and accumulated valuable experience and confidence for expanding into the global mining market.
Facing multiple technical and managerial challenges during project execution, the Eleventh Chemical Construction project team steadfastly adhered to the Belt and Road cooperation principles of “consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits.” Through scientific division of labor and efficient coordination, they precisely resolved various construction difficulties and completed the commissioning task with high quality. This fully demonstrated the company's exceptional execution capabilities and sense of responsibility in complex overseas engineering scenarios, opening broader prospects for its diversified and international development.
