Evonik Opens Largest Medical Device Technology Center Worldwide

On July 9, Evonik inaugurated its largest global medical device technology center in Shanghai.

The center focuses on the research, development, and processing of semi-finished components for bioresorbable medical devices, serving the entire Asian market and helping customers address various challenges in innovating high-end medical devices.

The technology center will utilize advanced processing techniques to develop and produce various forms of semi-finished components using Evonik's standard and customized biomaterials as raw materials. These components can be tailored with specific properties such as bioresorbability, low friction coefficient, thrombosis resistance, and anti-bacterial adhesion, according to customer requirements. Medical device manufacturers can further process these components into final devices to meet specific needs across multiple clinical fields.
