Honeywell Helps Launch China's Largest SAF Facility

On December 8, Honeywell and Zhejiang Jiaao Enpro Technologies Co., Ltd. jointly announced the successful commissioning of China's largest sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production facility.

According to the announcement, Jiaao Enpro utilizes Honeywell's advanced technology to convert 10,000 barrels per day (equivalent to an annual capacity of approximately 500,000 tons) of waste cooking oil into SAF. Through localized collaboration in process technology and catalysts, Jiaao Enpro has achieved high yield and large-scale SAF production, effectively reducing production costs and helping meet the growing global demand for low-emission aviation fuels.

"This newly commissioned SAF facility aims to provide aviation operators with a stable, competitively priced, and high-quality SAF supply, supporting emission reduction goals worldwide," said Shen Jian, Chairman of Jiaao Enpro. He added that Honeywell's technology efficiently processes feedstocks of varying qualities and consistently produces high-quality renewable fuel. The plant has now entered commercial operation, with capacity, yield, and product quality all meeting expectations.

Sun Jianneng, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell's Energy and Sustainable Technologies Group in China, stated that Honeywell is currently working to increase production output, expand the range of available feedstocks, and further reduce SAF costs.
