On May 13, Air Liquide China donated 50,000 RMB to Shanghai Ruifeng Urban Public Welfare Development Center to support the JOBB vocational empowerment program. Li Nan, Chief Financial Officer of Air Liquide China, and Wang Jiajia, Chairperson of Shanghai Ruifeng Urban Public Welfare Development Center, officially signed the donation agreement on behalf of both parties. Also attending the signing ceremony were Benjamin Darnault, Education Counselor at the French Consulate in Shanghai, Wu Jing, Vice President of Human Resources at Air Liquide China, Cheng Xu, Director of Research & Development China, as well as 20 participants and staff members from the JOBB program.
The JOBB program, jointly initiated by Shanghai Ruifeng Urban Public Welfare Development Center and the Soong Ching Ling Foundation, targets underprivileged Chinese youth aged 17 to 23, offering them six months of free vocational training, internship opportunities with partner companies, and job placement assistance upon completion. Advocating a shift from "poverty relief" to "empowerment," the program goes beyond financial aid by equipping beneficiaries with practical skills and real opportunities. To date, the program has enrolled 19 trainees, seven of whom have successfully graduated and embarked on internships or employment. The donated funds will primarily cover Western-style pastry chef certification courses and exams for trainees, as well as procurement of raw materials for teaching products.
