Lubrizol and Fulai New Materials Jointly Promote Sustainable Coating Materials

On November 25, Lubrizol Corporation and Zhejiang Fulai New Materials Co., Ltd. officially signed a memorandum of cooperation to establish a strategic partnership in innovative materials, including bio-based coatings, degradable coatings, specialty printing coatings, and high-barrier flexible packaging coatings, jointly developing sustainable coating materials.

Under the memorandum, both parties will form a joint working group to systematically advance the development and application of next-generation environmentally friendly coating resins—such as biodegradable resins, functional resins, and high-performance inkjet resins—through regular information sharing and collaborative research mechanisms. By combining Lubrizol's R&D strengths in specialty chemicals with Fulai New Materials’ extensive experience in coated composite manufacturing and market applications, this collaboration aims to develop eco-friendly material solutions such as repulpable and recyclable products, offering customers more competitive offerings.

The partnership will focus on eco-friendly paper applications in food packaging, such as paper cups and greaseproof paper, as well as specialty functional coatings for label materials. With technical support from Lubrizol in bio-based and degradable coatings, Fulai New Materials will be able to produce a range of differentiated products to meet the growing market demand for environmentally friendly and high-performance materials.
